ADRs End Mostly Higher, GSK and Erste Group Bank Trade Actively

International stocks trading in New York closed mostly higher on Monday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts rose 0.3% to 129.13. The European index increased 0.6% to 126.62, the Asian index rose 0.4% to 142.78, the Latin American index fell 3.1% to 188.94 and the emerging markets index dropped 0.4% to 245.72.

GSK PLC and Erste Group Bank AG were among the companies with ADRs that traded actively.

ADRs of GSK fell 3.2% after the drug company reported a setback in advanced trials of a treatment for bone-marrow cancer. The company said that its Dreamm-3 Phase 3 study in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma didn’t meet its primary endpoint of progression-free survival. The company said additional trials will continue and further data from the studies are anticipated in the first half of 2023.

ADRs of Erste Group Bank rose 2.1% after the Austrian bank said it has signed a contract to potentially acquire the active loan portfolio of Russian bank Sberbank’s Czech arm in liquidation.

ADRs of Vinci SA fell 1.6% after the French infrastructure company said its construction subsidiary has been summoned to court over charges relating to a complaint about working conditions at its sites in Qatar.
