Apple, Home Depot share gains lead Dow’s 100-point climb

Powered by positive momentum for shares of Apple and Home Depot, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Wednesday morning. Shares of Apple AAPL, +2.86% and Home Depot HD, +2.51% have contributed around one third of the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, -0.09% is trading 99 points higher (0.3%).

Apple’s shares are up $9.16, or 4.4%, while those of Home Depot are up $10.32, or 3.1%, combining for a roughly 128-point bump for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Microsoft MSFT, +1.94%, Goldman Sachs GS, +1.00%, and Dow DOW, +0.18%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow equates to a 6.57-point swing.
