Louisiana-Pacific posted lower third-quarter sales, weighed down by softness in siding demand.
The Nashville, Tenn.-based building products maker reported earnings from continuing operations of $118 million, or $1.63 a share, compared with $129 million, or $1.74 a share, in the same period last year.
Adjusted earnings of $1.62 a share topped analysts’ expectations of $1.53 a share, according to FactSet.
Sales fell 15% to $728 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $724 million.
Chief Executive Brad Southern said siding sales improved sequentially and that inventory in that segment has normalized.
