Shares of Travelers TRV, -2.57% and Walmart WMT, -1.61% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.47% was most recently trading 184 points (0.5%) lower. Travelers’s shares have fallen $3.89, or 2.3%, while those of Walmart have fallen $2.71 (1.7%), combining for a roughly 44-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Chevron CVX, -1.15%, Merck MRK, -1.29%, and Caterpillar CAT, -1.17%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
