Shares of Salesforce and Caterpillar are trading lower Thursday morning, dragging the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. The Dow DJIA, -0.17% was most recently trading 273 points lower (-0.7%), as shares of Salesforce CRM, -2.87% and Caterpillar CAT, -0.72% are contributing to the index’s intraday decline.
Salesforce’s shares have dropped $4.60 (2.0%) while those of Caterpillar have declined $6.12 (1.9%), combining for a roughly 70-point drag on the Dow. Amgen AMGN, -0.86%, Intel INTC, -0.98%, and McDonald’s MCD, -0.31% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark results in a 6.57-point swing.
