U.K. stocks break six-day winning streak

U.K. stocks fell Monday, as the FTSE 100 Index UKX, -0.22% finished down 0.22% at 8,414.99.

Among FTSE 100 constituents, defense equipment/products company BAE Systems PLC BA, -3.23% saw the largest decrease Monday, as shares shed 3.23%

Shares of general mining firm Anglo American PLC AAL, -2.40% and life insurance company Phoenix Group Holdings PLC PHNX, -2.31% fell 2.40% and 2.31%, respectively.

Admiral Group PLC ADM, -1.93%, a non-life insurance company, and technical services firm Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC SPX, -1.87% rounded out the top five largest decreases as their stocks declined 1.93% and 1.87%, respectively.

Diploma PLC DPLM, +4.05%, a wholesalers company, saw the largest increase of the FTSE 100 constituents, as shares climbed 4.05% on Monday.

Shares of wired telecommunications services firm BT Group PLC BT.A, +3.37% and passenger airlines company International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. IAG, +2.90% rallied 3.37% and 2.90%, respectively.

3i Group PLC III, +2.39%, an investment advisors company, and home goods retail company Kingfisher PLC KGF, +1.41% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rallied 2.39% and 1.41%, respectively.

The pound was up 0.30% against dollar GBPUSD, -0.01% at $1.2563 and 0.05% against the euro GBPEUR, 0.00% at €1.1634.

Brent crude BRN00, 0.28% increased 0.3% to $83.07, and the yield on the 10-year gilt TMBMKGB-10Y, 4.221% rose 0.730 basis points to 4.181%.
