Japanese stocks climb for second session

Asia-Pacific stocks were mixed Monday, Dec. 25, Japanese shares climbing for the second session.

The Nikkei 225 Index NIK, -0.08% of Japanese companies gained 0.3% to 33,254.03, while the Hong Kong Stock Exchange was closed.

China’s Shanghai Composite Index SHCOMP, -0.66% increased 0.1% to 2,918.81, while Singapore’s stock exchange was closed.

Among Nikkei 225 Index constituents, games software company NEXON 3659, -1.51% saw the largest increase Monday, as shares added 5.4%.

Shares of computer services firm NTT Data Group 9613, -0.57% and measuring/precision instruments company Lasertec 6920, 1.11% rose 4.5% and 2.8%, respectively.

Also in Japan, marine freight company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha 9107, -0.76% saw the largest decrease Monday, as shares dropped 8.6%

Shares of marine transport firms Nippon Yusen 9101, 0.75% Mitsui O.S.K. Lines 9104, 0.22% weakened 6.5% and 5.6%, respectively.
