Upwork shares were 10% higher at $9.97 after the company said it was expanding its AI offerings and resources.
The stock hit its 52-week low of $6.56 on May 4, and is down 54% in the past 12 months.
The company said the launch is being led by its new AI Services hub, an interactive service that connects companies with independent professionals in AI fields around the world, with new beta features powered by OpenAI technologies.
Upwork has also partnered with Jasper, a generative AI content generation platform, to offer talent on Upwork modern generative AI tools intended to increase productivity and work quality.
Upwork said it has seen significant adoption of generative AI among independent professionals and businesses on its platform, with more than 450% growth in weekly job posts related to generative AI compared to last year.
