Boeing, Chevron share gains lead Dow’s 100-point jump

Powered by strong returns for shares of Boeing and Chevron, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading up Tuesday afternoon.

The Dow DJIA, +0.28% was most recently trading 108 points, or 0.3%, higher, as shares of Boeing BA, +1.41% and Chevron CVX, +1.64% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally. Boeing’s shares have climbed $3.12 (1.7%) while those of Chevron have gained $2.41, or 1.4%, combining for a roughly 36-point boost for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are IBM IBM, +1.74%, Travelers TRV, +1.24%, and Honeywell HON, +0.99%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.59-point swing.
