Buoyed by positive momentum for shares of Nike and Honeywell International Inc., the Dow Jones Industrial Average is rallying Thursday afternoon.
The Dow DJIA, 0.48% was most recently trading 377 points higher (1.2%), as shares of Nike NKE, 0.88% and Honeywell International Inc. HON, 0.45% have contributed around 25% of the index’s intraday rally. Nike’s shares have risen $4.27 (4.0%) while those of Honeywell International Inc. have climbed $7.06, or 3.8%, combining for an approximately 75-point bump for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Microsoft MSFT, 0.87%, Walmart WMT, 0.91%, and Cisco CSCO, -1.24%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.59-point swing.
