Buoyed by positive growth for shares of IBM and Nike, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Thursday morning. The Dow DJIA, 0.36% is trading 205 points (0.6%) higher, as shares of IBM IBM, 1.51% and Nike NKE, 4.91% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally.
IBM’s shares are up $4.04 (3.2%) while those of Nike have gained $2.64 (2.1%), combining for a roughly 44-point boost for the Dow. UnitedHealth UNH, 0.59%, Goldman Sachs GS, 0.13%, and Caterpillar CAT, 3.04% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark results in a 6.59-point swing.
