Stocks edge mostly lower after S&P 500’s 3rd straight weekly gain

Stocks were largely drifting to downside after the opening bell Monday, struggling for direction as investors eyed the prospect of additional sanctions on Russia following news reports of potential war crimes by the nation’s military in Ukraine.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.15% fell 134 points, or 0.4%, to 34,684, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.51% was off 0.1% at 4,540. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, -1.49% rose 0.3% to 14,311.
