The Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading down Monday afternoon with shares of Chevron and Walt Disney delivering the stiffest headwinds for the price-weighted average.
The Dow DJIA, -0.62% was most recently trading 30 points (0.1%) lower, as shares of Chevron CVX, -3.26% and Walt Disney DIS, -3.65% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. Chevron’s shares are off $2.41 (2.6%) while those of Walt Disney have dropped $4.56, or 2.6%, combining for a roughly 46-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include American Express AXP, -2.39%, Merck MRK, -2.42%, and Johnson & Johnson JNJ, -2.54%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
