Marks & Spencer Group PLC said Monday that it plans to relaunch a revised version of its sustainability program and create an ESG board subcommittee.
The board subcommittee will be created effective from Wednesday and will seek to provide focus and oversight of the program across the business, the U.K. retailer said.
Tamara Ingram will chair the subcommittee, and she will be joined by Sapna Sood as a member, while M&S Chairman Archie Norman will attend the meetings.
The subcommittee’s first task will be to agree on a timetable for the relaunch of the company’s sustainability program, called Plan A, next year, M&S said.
“Plan A was launched in 2007 and the time has come to look again at our plans and challenge our thinking,” Mr. Norman said.
