Behind losses for shares of Walt Disney and 3M, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is slumping Friday afternoon. Shares of Walt Disney DIS, -9.42% and 3M MMM, -9.17% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -4.54% was most recently trading 661 points lower (-3.3%).
Walt Disney’s shares are down $7.95 (8.4%) while those of 3M are off $11.29 (8.2%), combining for an approximately 130-point drag on the Dow. Caterpillar CAT, -7.29%, Exxon Mobil XOM, -4.90%, and Goldman Sachs GS, -7.41% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.78-point swing.
