Editorial policy
This page sets out how our coverage is produced and the standards we hold it to. We update it when our process changes.
How our articles are produced
Our articles are produced with the assistance of artificial intelligence, working from a defined set of topics and editorial guidelines set by our team, and published under the Equity Insider masthead rather than an individual byline.
We think readers are entitled to know this. AI-assisted production lets us cover more ground more consistently than a desk our size otherwise could, but it does not remove our responsibility for what appears here. Everything published is our editorial responsibility, and errors are ours to correct.
What our coverage is — and isn't
We publish analysis and explanatory commentary on markets and the economy. We are not a wire service, and we do not claim to break news or conduct original reporting. We do not conduct interviews, and we do not quote sources we have not spoken to. Where we discuss a data release, policy decision or market move, we are explaining and contextualising publicly available information, not reporting privileged information.
Nothing we publish is investment advice. See our full disclaimer.
Accuracy
We aim to be accurate about facts, figures and the mechanisms we describe. Market data displayed on this site is supplied by third parties and may be delayed. Where an article cites a figure, that figure reflects our understanding at the time of publication and may be superseded.
If we get something wrong, we fix it and we say so. Our corrections policy explains how.
Independence
Our own editorial coverage is not for sale. We do not accept payment to write about a company, and no advertiser or third party has any say over what our articles conclude.
Separately, we republish sponsored newswire material. That content originates with the issuing company or its agency, not with us, and it carries the compensation disclosure supplied by the originator. It is not our editorial output and should not be read as our assessment of anything.
Holdings and conflicts
Where Market Equities Limited, its owners or anyone involved in producing an article holds a position in a security that article discusses, we disclose it in the article itself. If you believe we have missed a disclosure, please tell us and we will correct it.
Third-party content
This site displays market data and sentiment widgets supplied by third parties, including TradingView and Eagle Eye. That content is theirs, is provided for information only, and we do not independently verify it. It is subject to the terms of the providers concerned.
Telling us about a problem
Corrections, complaints and questions about our coverage all go to the same place — see contact. We read everything.
